Achieving The Pinnacle: ARTLANTIC: wonder Takes Shape In Atlantic City

As these photos attest, ARTLANTIC: wonder is taking shape at what we dubbed the Pinnacle Lot sitting on aa former empty lot near the world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Pacific and Kentucky avenues. The picture with the barrels above? Shiver me timbers, those are the contents of the pirate ship! You'll have to come to Atlantic City, NJ to see it in person. Fabulous. Official unveiling of this exhibition site is Friday, November 9, 2012, with an official preview at 2:30pm. Join the festivities.

Arts Parks Installations Getting Ready For Their Close-up

Soon, the two exhibition sites that make up ARTLANTIC: wonder will be unveiled. Artists, union members, workers, curators, and more have collaborated to create these two eye-catching sites. The big one above is site 1, which spreads over 7 acres. The smaller site 2, Étude Atlantis, sits on around 8,500 square feet. Both were spared by Hurricane Sandy.

New York Times Covers ARTLANTIC, A New Art Project In Atlantic City, NJ

Check out today’s New York Times in which reporter Ted Loos notes the importance of ARTLANTIC to Atlantic City siting that the project “is attempting to transform a city…” and that the sites for the project were “until a month ago a barren, seven-acre expanse of grass and gravel right off the Boardwalk in the center of town.”
